The Storyline

Jonathan Pine believed he had finally buried his past. Operating under the alias Alex Goodwin, he has settled into the mundane life of a low-level MI6 officer, managing a quiet surveillance unit in London. But for a man with Pine’s history, peace is a fragile illusion. His uneventful life is shattered when a chance sighting of an old mercenary from the Roper era pulls him back into the fray. Deep in the heart of Colombia, Pine is plunged into a lethal conspiracy involving the illegal trade of weapons and the training of a guerrilla army. As allegiances splinter and betrayal lurks in every shadow, Pine must decide exactly how much of his soul he is willing to sacrifice to expose a plot designed to destabilize a nation.
